BIOGRAPHY
D. Michael Adams began his sculpting career in Paris in 1992, with a classical figurative approach.  Next, he explored contemporary forms at the Silvermine Art Guild in Connecticut. His muse and partner is photographer Anyes Adams.

Moving to Colorado in 1999 gave him access to the excellent foundries and art communities in Denver and Loveland. His two bronzes torsos, First Violin and First Flute, were purchased by the Breckenridge Music Institute and installed by the town of Breckenridge, Colorado at the entrance to the Riverwalk Performing Arts Center.  Michael and his wife Anyes helped lead the Summit County Arts Council through several years of growth and established Arts Alive Gallery for local artists.

In 2005, the family moved to the Bahamas, in the beautiful Abaco island chain.  Here, an oceanfront studio has seen the creation of a new sculpture series, Angels and Mermaids, and paintings to accompany all of his sculptural themes.  Michael and Anyes helped found the Abaco Art Guild, to support arts in the community.
During the Fall season, he works at his family home on Lake Champlain. Michael's studio here is primarily for painting.

Michael's sculptures are cast in bronze, with limited editions of 9 for life-size pieces and 25 for table-top pieces.  A distinctive style, emphasizing grace and movement, characterizes each piece. The unique marble patinas, moving from darker to lighter tones at the apex, capture light and beauty.

Michael's paintings treat both figurative and landscape subjects. Rich textures are developed with the use of palette knife and gel media. Major pieces will soon be available in giclee prints.
